Album Technology
A photo book is the perfect way to permanently display memories of important moments or events to be shared. It is therefore necessary that it be made as attractive and as durable as possible. Because it lies completely flat when open, it is possible to show uninterrupted images over two adjacent pages, or a “panoramic page”. This is a key feature of an attractive photo book. Sheets, of either offset or photographic paper, printed on one side only, must be creased and tightly folded into half. This separate operation takes place on the mitafold.  (1) Any number of folded signatures, collated in proper sequence, is placed into an automatic hopper feeder. (2/3) Fed singly they pass through a glue station vertically, in which each section gets full glue coverage on one side only. The first section of each new book block does not get glued in order to separate the individual blocks from each other. (4) Every section arrives spine down onto the delivery table where each signature gets pressed against the previous one. (5) The finished book blocks are taken off manually and are piled down after an additional pressing.   top! |
